JYJ to release global album

Some big news coming from the JYJ (Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu) camp as they’ve just announced a new global album release for “The Beginning”.

JYJ Announces “The Beginning”
New album from the ex-members of Asia’s top selling male vocal act “TVXQ” collaborates with international music superstars on global debut
JYJ, which includes 3 main members from arguably the biggest selling male vocal group in Asia “TVXQ” has teamed up with A-list US producers Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins for their global album debut “The Beginning”. The title of the album is synonymous with their journey to date and marks a first for the group to release an English language album.
JYJ has an enormous fan base worldwide and the trio made it to the Guinness Book Records in 2008 and 2009 for having the World’s Largest Official Fan Club at over 800,000 members in Seoul alone and being The Most Photographed Celebrities in the World shot an estimated 500 million times in magazines, albums jackets, and commercials from the time of their debut in 2003 to May 19 2009 with their former group.
The first single off the album “Ayyy Girl” is produced by Kanye West who lends his vocals to the song. It also features the maestro of spoken word, Malik “The Poet” Yusef. It’s a song that depicts the quest of seeking that perfect girl but when you find her, things are never quite as perfect as you envision it to be.
Besides the catchy first single by Kanye West, The Beginning also sees original compositions by top music producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. The two tracks are “Empty” and “Be My Girl”.
Rodney Jerkins reportedly said,

“I’m really glad to work with JYJ on their debut album. It’s all about the East meeting the West these days and the world is becoming a melting pot of various cultures. To have Kanye and myself champion the cause of unifying the world through the international language of music and introducing top artistes from one end of the globe to this end in America makes this a very special project to us.”

Other than the creative collaborations with the US top producers onboard, JYJ who has been dabbling in songwriting since their teenage days, have also contributed a song each to the album. The tracks are ”Still in Love” Jaejung, ”I Can Soar” Junsu and ”I Love You” Yuchun.
Mr. Baek Chang Ju, the trio’s manager and CEO of C-JeS Entertainment, commented,

“We have faced many challenges in these recent months but are glad to complete an album which the boys are extremely proud of. The Beginning is a product of their blood, sweat and tears, and they hope fans will see the efforts that went into making this excellent album. As a partaker in their journey, I am so proud of them at this moment for what they have achieved.”

The album comprises of 7 tracks and 3 remixes. Jae Chong, one of Asia’s leading music producers has also contributed a track on it and played a big role in organizing and producing the overall project with the 3 members.
The Beginning is produced by Show Shop Entertainment and distributed by Warner Music worldwide. The album will be released on CD & digital formats from 12th OCT. There will also be a special limited edition `Luxury Package’ which will be numbered and limited to only 99,999 sets.
The first single “Ayyy Girl” will be made available via i-Tunes for download on the 19th of Oct.
New Album Showcase Tour 2010

JYJ comprises of three members from South Korea namely Kim Jaejung, Park Yuchun and Kim Junsu. They were originally from the boy band Dongbangshinki also known as “TVXQ” and “Tohoshinki” which is formed in 2003 in Korea. Known for their good looks, dancing skills and vocal capabilities, the boys took the Asian pop music market by storm. They were the first group to successfully spearhead the 2nd Korean Music wave into the Japanese market by becoming the first non Japanese act to have nine No. 1 singles on Japan’s Oricon Charts. In 2009, the trio left the band and went on to form JYJ. In June 2010, JYJ held their first concert under their new identity at the Tokyo Dome, singing to more than 200,000 fans from 43 countries around the world. To date, the concert DVD became the second fastest selling DVD in Japan this year shifting 140,000 copies in its first week of release.

BoA’s mother publishes “The Golden Rule”

BoA’s mother, Sung Young Ja, has published a book titled “The Golden Rule.”
Being the mother of a pianist (Kwon Sun Hwon), a music video director (Kwon Soon Wook), and a world star (BoA), the book garnered high interest even before its release with many curious about her life and thoughts.
The book contains the first half of her life along with stories of how she raised her three successful children. There are also a series of never before seen photos of BoA and hidden stories to attract the attention of readers.
Netizens have high anticipations for the book, leaving comments such as, “She is finally revealing her methods on raising such successful children,” and “I want to hurry up and see BoA’s never before seen photos.”

BoA's repackage album will release

BoA reveals the teaser photo for her upcoming 6th repackaged album ‘Copy & Paste’ on 17th September. A teaser video will also be revealed on 20th September.

According to her agency SM Entertainment, “The teaser video will be revealed on BoA’s officialy homepage on 20th September.”

‘COPY&PASTE’ is set to be released on 27th September and BoA will have her first live stage for the repackaged album on 24th September on KBS Music Bank.

WGM Adam, YongSeo and Khuntoria couples together

MBC variety program ‘We Got Married’ will be doing a horror special over the Chuseok holidays.




And the show, to air on 18th September, will have all 3 couples Adam couple (Jo Kwon and GaIn), YongSeo (Jung YongHwa and SeoHyun) and Khuntoria (Nich Khun and Victoria) will come together at one place for the first time.



The 3 couples will also participate in games like wrestling and couple relay thinking that they are all fighting for the title for the best couple on the special. But the real ‘best couple’ will be picked through another way.





The MC for the special will be C.N Blue Lee JungShin and the couples will have to go through a section where the couples will be rearranged into groups of 2 in a deserted school compound for a horror experience.

JYJ's temporal Japanese activity suspension

There has been great concern in Korea after news went out that Dong Bang Shin Ki trio Micky YooChun, Hero JaeJoong and Xiah JunSu had left their Japanese agency.




The news came directly from the trio’s Japanese agency AVEX Trax on 16th September, announcing the temporal suspension of the trio’s Japanese activities. With that on 17th September, the trio’s representative responded on 17th September that the report is an one-sided report from AVEX Trax and have posed the trio with adverse conditions.



Even though this is for the trio’s Japanese activities, there has been great interests coming from Korea’s side as well. This is because currently, we are looking at the ‘new hallyu’ by singers who are promoting in Japanese currently like Big Bang, Supernova, KARA, So Nyeo Shi Dae etc.





In fact, the chance success to be achieved by the girlgroups in the Japanese music scene is said to be high. At the same time, many of these singers’ local agencies are contacting Japanese agencies to work together for these group’s Japanese promotions. And with this news, there have been many eyebrows raised from officials in the Korean music industry.



This comes as somewhat a cold air amidst the Kpop fever going on in the Japanese music scene. Dong Bang Shin Ki has been acknowledged as the representative Korean singer in the Japanese music scene. And many of the Japanese fans of KARA and So Nyeo Shi Dae are also fans of Dong Bang Shin Ki. This would have some impact on the Korean management companies to work with more caution with their groups promoting in Japan.

So Nyeo Shi Dae members show off 9 different charms through each of the 9 members’ unique ‘airport fashion’.

So Nyeo Shi Dae ended their SMTOWN LIVE ’10 WORLD TOUR in L.A. concert performance and had returned to Korea on 6th September at 5.50pm.

Seen in different fashion, the 9 members were in hot pants, jeans, training suit etc. Since it was a long flight home from the States, the girls were seen in their fresh faces and sunglasses on. Seeing this, fans have commented, “Can’t hide their beauty”, “They are individualistic even in their airport fashion” etc.

Meanwhile, following up, So Nyeo Shi Dae will be focusing on their Japanese debut.

So Nyeo Shi Dae awarded the Singer Award

So Nyeo Shi Dae has been awarded the singer award at the Korean Broadcast Awards.
The 37th Korean Broadcast award took place at 5.10pm on 3rd September in KBS Hall. And So Nyeo Shi Dae was awarded a trophy for winning the singer award. However the girls are not present at the award ceremony as they are currently in the States for SMTown concert.

BoA, Yunho and Changmin

Singer BoA reveals a photo taken together with friends of the same agency YunHo and ChangMin on the plane.

BoA wrote on her Twitter on 2nd September, “On the plane!! Taking personal plane go go sing!! The headcover behind is the logo to our concert ^^ Good sense!!” and uploaded the photo.

In the photo, BoA was seen seated in between YunHo and ChangMin. Fans commented, “I’m so envious that you get to sit in between YunHo and ChangMin”, “The photo is daebak, the concert is daebak”, “They look really close” etc.

Meanwhile, the 3 had flown to LA for ‘SM TOWN LIVE 2010 WORLD TOUR in LA’ which is set to happen on 5th September.

The answer to SNSD's 'Gee'?

MBLAQ lead vocal G.O will collaborate with rapper Nassun for a digital single ‘O-IWI-O’ which is set for release on various online music sites on 3rd September.
The duet song between the 2 ‘O-IWI-O’ is composed by E-Tribe who made many hits previously like Lee Hyori ‘U-Go-Girl’ and So Nyeo Shi Dae ‘Gee’. E-Tribe voiced, “The song ‘O-IWI-O’ by G.O and Nassun is a song in reply to So Nyeo Shi Dae ‘Gee’. So Nyeo Shi Dae ‘Gee’ song talks about the confession of a girl who falls in love at first sight and ‘O-IWI-O’ is a sweet serenade by the guy in response to that.”
