SM, JYP, and YG want "fair play"
On May 14, 2009, a group press conference was held for the “Korea Music Power Project with representatives from some of the biggest companies there such as JYP, SM, and YG.
At the conference, they stated they wanted an awards ceremony based on fair charts and more events that will benefit a good cause such as the “Dream Concert”.With such an emphasis on equality and public service, it seems that the big wigs are running out of something important, ethics.If a fair chart is what they want, it will be interesting what fans will say when their opinions become equal to or less than that of other factors as actual “quality of singing”.

Fly to the Sky final activity
Male duo group Fly To The Sky goes on a farewell trip ending their 10 years of promoting together on SBS Close Note, aired on 8th May.
The 2 of them met in 1998, and debut together as Fly To The Sky in 1999. It has been a 11-year friendship and hardship for them.
HwanHee said during their last broadcast activity on the show, “Just 2 of us, there has been a period of 4-5 years which was really hard for us.”
When asked, “What is Fly To The Sky’s hit song?” and the answer was ‘Missing You’. There has also been a lot of talk about their bad times together. They also did a game where they had to get very intimate with their different body parts like hip, ears or calf together while playing a basketball match.
Also close friends WheeSung and Lyn were present and the 2 talked about the time when they found it tough as their personalities are different, and also about things they never told each other. Like how HwanHee would get angry whenever Brian mimicks his singer, or when Brian felt sorry he had to leave HwanHee to sleep alone in their dormitary when he is out meeting girls.
The peak to this episode of Close Note comes when the 2 watch a screen showing the memories of their past 10 years together under the dark night sky. Looking at their ownselves during the different times of promoting different hit songs, tears appeared in their eyes. After the video ended, they read out a letter to each other. More tears are visible.
HwanHee to Brian, “I’m really happy you were also there. I love you, from elder brother”. And Brian to HwanHee, “I have no regrets to be in a team with you. I will pray for you to be a great artiste. I love you from the most sincere part of myself.”
After the programme was aired, viewers all commented, “It was a truely touching episode”, “The 2 cried together”, “I applauded for the 2 to have done promotion together for the past 10 years”, “It has been a hard time for them the past 10 years. I hope their solo activities will be as great as themselves right now”.
This episode of Close Note ends the 10-year activity of a great duo group. But what lies ahead of them are more opportunities for them to show themselves.

KiBum didn't promote SJ's third album
The recent release of Super Junior's 3rd album lately, member KiBum (22) was not seen promoting the album title song 'Sorry Sorry' together with the rest of the group.Netizens starting discussions on the internet about him 'leaving the group' or 'because of his weight gain, he did not do promotions with the group' etc. And lately, there has been many comparison of his photos about him gaining much weight going on on the internet.
The reason for his no-show was said to be that he was taking acting lessons. SM Entertainment said, "KiBum did the recording for Super Junior's 3rd album too. There is not such thing as him leaving the group. He is currently taking acting classes, and hence he could not join the rest for the album promotions."
"A while back, he filmed for LG OZ CF. Soon, he will be able to present to everyone himself in an upcoming good production."
KiBum is the member in Super Junior with the greatest volume of acting activities. He took part in KBS drama April's Kiss in 2004, and then went on to SBS drama Marrying a millionaire, KBS2 Rounding Off 2, SBS Snowflower etc.

Xiah is doing alright
Fans heave a sigh of relief to see the smile on Dong Bang Shin Ki Xiah JunSu’s face, after having hurt his ankle during their concert rehearsal.
Photos of Xiah posing happily with the other Dong Bang Shin Ki members posted on Avex’s president’s blog has assured fans that he is doing ok after the accident.
It has been assured from SM Entertainment’s side that Xiah’s injuries are not too serious. And with the help of staff, he was able to go onto the stage to perform, but he will not join the rest of the members to dance. For the subsequent concert performances for their concert tour, they will continue to monitor his condition.

Chocolyn: Voice for Li Yin
Five months before Liyin’s third debut anniversary, the four biggest Zhang Li Yin fanclubs are (finally) officially announcing the start of the project! After some discussion, we (Chocolyn + 3 other major Zhang Li Yin fanclubs) will be working together to raise approximately $2000 together (between four fanclubs) to send a gold microphone to Liyin for September 9th, 2009.The microphone will be bought from German company Sennheiser, through a division in California, United States, and will be sent sometime in early August when they will do crystallized customization for us. After the customization is finished, one of Chocolyn’s staff members will be picking it up directly from the Sennheiser dealer and it will be sent to China.
As one of the four fanclubs, Chocolyn will need raise over $600 to cover our fanclub’s part of the contribution. Although $2000 is the approximate cost for the project in total, we decided that it is best if we have a higher donation goal to aim at in order to make this fanclub collaboration happen. Not to mention, Chocolyn staff members have plans to hold our own separate side debut anniversary project, so we can give Liyin gifts from Chocolyn as an individual fanclub too. If we cannot raise enough for both to happen, we will make sure the raised funds will only be used for “Voice 4 Liyin” instead.
In order for both the gold microphone collaboration project (Voice 4 Liyin) and the separate Chocolyn side project to happen, we will need all your help. Every little bit counts.
Here is how the $2000 total will be spent:
- $1000 on a Sennheiser microphone
- $800 on a two-colour Sennheiser microphone customization
- $150 for shipping and handling (from California, USA to Beijing, China)

Zhang Li Yin at Jackie Chan's Concert
Zhang Li Yin, along with Super Junior M, just performed at Jackie Chan's concert at Bird Nest. The concert was held on 05.01.2009 (May 1st 2009). Zhang Li Yin performed "I Will" from her first album. Super Junior on the day performed their 3rd album songs ‘Sorry Sorry’ and ‘Why I Like you’. This is a pleasant surprise for their China fans since it is the first time they perform the 2 songs in China.
Great friendship formed beween Super Junior, Jang Ri In and Jackie Chan can be seen from their friendly stage and them putting behind their age difference.
